Why choose Reins of Honor – how we started
After serving all populations in Delaware through Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, we saw the healing effects that our horses provided to the Military community. With that in mind, as a military family, and with support from our community we decided to become exclusive to Military and Veterans through Reins of Honor. The name itself comes from “return with honor” which is from the United States Air Force Pararescuemen (also known as PJs) creed. Reins are what horsemen use to guide their horses, thus the name and its meaning.
Accompanied by our herd of equine therapists we have made it our mission to provide a safe place for all service members to explore a non-traditional path to healing. We strive to provide a safe environment with a foundation built on a team approach, including horses. We focus on safety, guidance, integrity, and the welfare of the animals to ensure the highest standards in equine assisted activities.

Non-Profit Organization
We are a 501c3, so all services are provided by the generosity of our community partners. Our providers are all master’s level clinicians, certified equine specialists and all certified in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy & Learning through EAGALA, the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association. Our horses are family members and all well-mannered.
